Poker Run Rules at Different Events
Be it a national or a regional event, the basic poker run rules at different events remain more or less the same. It is essentially a biking or boating event that is right admixture of racing, poker, skills and luck.

The participants have to practice strict abstinence from any kind of alcoholic or intoxicating beverage until the end of the event. Also, participants must adhere to a fixed maximum speed. Exceeding this limit might be grounds for disqualification.
A Poker run is a fun and exciting way to play a hand of poker while enjoying beautiful scenery on land or water. Participants travel along a pre-determined course. Along the course, each participant will make five (or more) stops. At each stop, he will pick up a single playing card (usually sealed in an envelope). At the end of the course, all envelopes are opened, and the participants must put together their best five-card poker hand. The high hand is declared the winner. At each stop, there are usually planned activities or refreshments awaiting the participants.
The poker run rules at different events invariably include safety measures. Regardless of the poker run being a biking or boating event, the participants have to ensure that they carry all the required safety devices. In case of boating event, poker run rules require the participants to carry personal floatation devices. It is mandatory to have one medical /rescue personnel onboard.
Every poker run has regular driver’s meeting and as per the poker run rules at different events, and the meeting us usually mandatory. The bike or the boat should also have a visible identification sticker on both sides of the vehicle.
All poker runs follow certain poker run rules at different events for signaling the participating drivers. Different colored flags are used to notify different situations. For example, a red flag signifies stop, black: accident and purple: disqualification. Besides the flags, there are hand signals that the drivers give to the organizers. Two hands waved overhead mean immediate medical assistance is required, one hand waved overhead means immediate fire or tow assistance is needed and likewise hands clasped overhead means no assistance is needed.
